Today, you set everything by hand. Something is coming that won't need you to.
A future layer that learns how you actually use your screen, and starts making small decisions for you.
Every setting in the app today works the same way: you decide the exact value, and it stays there until you change it. That is not going away. If you like being the one in control, that stays exactly how it works.
What is coming is a second way to run any setting. Instead of picking a fixed number yourself, you hand that one setting over and it starts paying attention. It learns when you actually reach for more brightness, when a spike happens that you would rather it quietly correct, and what a normal day of using your screen looks like for you. Over time, it adjusts on its own without a new screen to configure or new options to learn.
how it works today
You set the exact value. It stays there until you change it. Full control, nothing automatic.
what's coming
Hand a setting over, and it watches, learns, and adjusts on its own from there.
Nothing about how the app works today changes in the meantime.
Permissions
Phosphor is a lightweight screen utility suite that runs locally on your Mac, uses minimal system resources, and needs these permissions to provide its features. Your data stays on your Mac and is never collected, uploaded, or shared. Phosphor is designed with privacy at its core.
