Draw on your Mac screen while you present
Drawing lets you mark up your screen with ink while you talk, so a circle or an underline lands on whatever you are explaining. Drawing ships with the Studio Features in Pro.
Get Phosphor for MacHow to turn it on
Use the Drawing card, the Studio list in the menu bar, or the hotkey. Here, on means draw mode is on.
Draw mode starts on the display that holds the cursor. Only that display takes the mouse, and the others stay click-through.
What you can change
- Ink color: Red, Yellow, Green, Blue or White. The default is Red.
- Width: 2 to 24 pt. The default is 5.
- Fade ink after: 0 to 30 seconds. 0 means the ink never fades, and it is the default.
- Each stroke keeps the fade time it had when you began it. A fading stroke takes half a second to disappear.
Hotkey
Draw is Control+Option+Command+D, and Clear is Control+Option+Command+E. You can change both on the Drawing card. Escape ends draw mode and keeps the ink.
Permissions
None. Drawing does not ask for Screen Recording, Accessibility or Input Monitoring.
Good to know
- Clear removes the ink on every display.
- Ink stays until you clear it, it fades, or Studio Mode turns off. Studio Mode will not turn off while ink remains.
- Strokes are not saved or logged.
- Ink is visible in screen shares and recordings.
- Drawing needs Pro, a one-time purchase of $19.99.
